Year Y5/6

Children will be given a reading book and will be set an amount to be read each week with a short linked task to complete.

20 mins 3x per week with an adult using reading set by school and a book of their choice.

Please record all reading you do with your child in their Reading Record Book.

Daily practice of the spelling list sent home weekly on Fridays for testing the following Friday.

New lists will be stuck into Spelling books which children will bring home.  As children will use this book for their weekly tests, it is important that the book is brought into school on a Friday.

Weekly homework is linked to Maths Targets and will be sent home on a Friday to be completed by the following Tuesday.  In addition, children are encouraged to practise the skills relevant to their current targets daily.  Targets will be changed on a monthly basis and the new targets sent to parents to enable continued support.

If your child routinely fails to bring the above home, please check with your class teacher.
