Happy New Year

Posted 8/1/2017

Christmas seems like along time ago already and we have all settled back into school routines well.  Details of the new theme, Misty Mountain Sierra, will be coming home in the Curriculum letter this week but it has gotten off to a good start with the children enjoying writing Calligrams in English and a fun session with Mr. Foxwell learning to work as teams to problem solve.

Later in the term we will be going on walks into Northallerton to practise our map reading skills and do some sketching and patents and carers would be very welcome to join us.  Dates will be published on this website as soon as individual class teachers have confirmed them and a letter will come home.  Additionally, on Monday 13th February, we will be off to Carlton Lodge outdoor centre to do some adventurous activities linked to our themes.  Again, parent volunteers would be welcome and a letter will come home shortly.

In the last theme. Tribal Tales, we were lucky to get a donation of large timbers from Sam Turner that meant we could emulate our pre-historic ancestors and build a section of our own Woodhenge.  Thank you to the parents who came to help and, if you are in Sam Turners, please make sure to say thank you for their help. Some of the children are in the process of writing an article for the Sam Turner newsletter, so keep an eye out in the coming months.

Cheers,

The Y3/4 Teaching Team
